We have moved the loom from Ruth's house to the MakerLabs. Putting the loom back together is always a big challenge, but it is done.

The first class of our Intro course was so great. Here is Ruth's teaching image, at this point the image has had it's colours reduced and 8 layers separated, awaiting weave structures. 

Here you can see the pattern presets being assigned to the layers and what the weave file will look like with the structures assigned. The students will be weaving samples next week and continuing to work on their designs.  

Toban a former student of ours at Capilano University and current Nova Scotia School of Art and Design student - home for the summer holidays (just can't stop working), came to TAD to weave yardage. Toban wove about 8 feet of his skull repeat using our black cotton warp and white cotton weft. Toban will be taking a Jacquard class in the winter term and weave more there to add to his collection. Toban will keep us posted on what he does with this piece, perhaps a jacket, go to Projects to find out more about Toban.
